ROUND TREK ACROSS DHAULADHARS 

[INDERHARA PASS (4300M) AND JALSU PASS (3700M)]

This 21 day tour (10 days trekking) begins and ends in Delhi. The trek starts in McLeod Ganj and ends in Baijnath, south of Dharamsala after crossing the same mountain range twice – thus making it a round trek. Beautiful alpine meadows carpeted with flowers and medicinal plants, pasturelands, flocks of goats, sheep and wild birds and superb views from the passes make this a most wonderful route through a landscape dotted with many villages where we pause to meet the villagers and relax.

TREK GRADE: Moderate to Strenuous

BEST TIME:  May to June & September to November

Day 01  

Arrival at Delhi Airport

 

On arrival transfer(By Car) to hotel. Check-in at Hotel

Day 02  

Delhi - Dharamsala

529 km

Overnight tourist bus to Dharamsala.

Day 03

Arrive in Dharamsala

 

Arrive early morning in Dharamsala. Check in hotel at Mcleodganj.

Day 04

Sightseeing in Dharamsala

 

Visit Buddhist monasteries, Tibetan institutes and Bhagsu Nag temple etc.( By Car)

Day 05

Kangra Valley Tour

 

Visit Masrur rock cut temple and Kangra Devi temple passing through the whole kangra valley.(By Car)

Day 06

 

On Trek.Mcleodganj-Triund (2975 m)

9 km

First day of the trek Triund is an alpine meadow situated on top of a ridge with good views of peaks of Dhauladhar on one side and kangra valley on the other..

Day 07  

Triund-Lahes Cave (3600 m)

6 km

Short day for acclimatization. Night in the cave or tents.

Day 08

 

Lahes-Inderhara Pass (4300 m) Chatta Parao (3500 m)

11 km

Early start is of vital importance as the clouds make visibility poor by noon. We walk over soft snow and ice to reach the pass from where stunning views of the Pir Panjal range of the Central Himalaya greet us. Night in tents.

Day 09

Chatta Parao-Kuwarsi Village  (2200 m)

15 km

Kuwarsi, a beautiful tribal village surrounded by green fields, is the first village we encounter enroute through Chamba valley. Night in tents or in village temple.

Day 10  

Kuwarsi-Lamu-Village        (1900 m)

12 km

The trail, cut through huge rock walls and very narrow is scary in some places.

Day 11  

Lamu Village-Holi (1900 m)

12 km

Holi is a small village linked by road to Chamba town. Night in tents or rest house.

Day 12

Holi-Nayagran (1800 m)

14 km

A level walk on unmetalled road takes us to Nayagran, a small village of 12 to 15 houses. Night in a village house or outside the village in tents.

Day 13 

Nayagran-Yaragot (2800 m)

16 km

Yara Got is a temporary shepherd camp at the base of Jalsu pass.

Day 14

Yaragot-Jalsu pass (3700 m)-Parai (2200 m)

15 km

It takes two hours to reach the pass and two to three to descent to Parai. Night in tents.

Day 15

Parai-Utrala (near Baijnath)

12 km

Downhill trek for about two to three hours takes us to Utrala, the roadhead. Camp near a small hedle project at Utralla near Binwa river.Trek Ends.One can go swimming in the river.

Day 16  

Utralla to Dharamsala

60 km

Drive(By Local Bus) from Utralla to Dharamsala. Check in hotel.

Day17

In Dharamsala

 

Day at Leisure. Go Shopping etc.

Day 18

Dharamsala to Delhi

 

Overnight tourist bus to Delhi

Day 19 

Arrive Delhi

 

Check-in at Hotel.

Day 20

Delhi-Agra-Delhi

 

Day trip(By Tourist Bus) to visitTaj Mahal at Agra.

Day 21

Departure from India

 

Transfer(By Car) to international airport.
